Packaging that saves time, cuts costs, and protects better

At Woola, we don’t just talk about better packaging. We put it to the test.

We compared Wool Envelopes with plastic bubble mailers and with box-and-bubble-wrap setups. We measured packing speed, labour cost, and impact protection.

The result is simple: you pack faster, spend less on labour, and ship with fewer breakages.

Shipping 20,000 parcels per month? Switching to Wool Envelopes can save you €17,100 per year from faster packing alone.

Woola packaging is 21 seconds faster to pack than a cardboard box. That may not sound like much—until you multiply it by thousands of parcels.

How the savings add up

The average hourly wage for a standard packing worker in France is €12.24 (see sources at the bottom of the page).

1 hour = 3,600 seconds

€12.24 average wage ÷ 3,600 = €0.0034 per second

Formula for savings:

(time saved per parcel) × (labour cost per second)

21 × €0.0034 = €0.0714 saved per parcel (≈ 7 cents)

3.37× better protection than bubble wrap mailers

Packing speed doesn’t matter much if your products still arrive broken. That’s why we also ran repeat drop tests with fragile items in both Wool Envelopes and bubble wrap mailers.

Each item was dropped from 120 cm (standard shipping height) until it broke.

Wool Envelopes outperformed plastic bubble wrap mailers in every test. Watch the test videos below to see for yourself.
