+ What is Woola?
We're a sustainable packaging manufacturer that uses waste wool to replace plastic bubble wrap. Our standard product range includes padded Wool Envelopes that replace bubble mailers, woollen Bottle Sleeves, Wool Boxes for watches and jewellery and a patterned Bubble Wool material for wrapping bulkier items.

+ Why wool packgaging?
Around 200 000 tonnes of coarse sheep wool goes unused in Europe every year. That's enough to cover the world's bubble wrap needs 120%.
We buy this waste material directly from small-scale sheep farmers and turn it into sustainable protective packaging.
Despite being too coarse for the textiles industry, waste wool still has all the wonderful properties of wool. Its elasticity, water repellency, and resistance to temperature extremes make it a perfect material for packing items that need extra protection.
Packaging made of wool is durable and can be reused multiple times. Our goal is to set up a supply chain to keep the precious material in the loop.
+ What are the packages made from, besides wool?
We use a proprietary production technology to turn raw wool into packaging without the need for any adhesives or additives. For example, Bubble Wool and the inlays of our Wool Envelopes are made of 100% wool. The exterior of the Wool Envelopes are made of FSC-certified paper.
To produce Bottle Sleeves and Wool Boxes, we also use a small amount of PLA (polylactic acid, a binder synthesised from corn).
Whenever possible, we create custom packaging solutions only of wool and FSC-certified paper or cardboard. Depending on your needs, we might have to add a small amount of PLA.
